Tauntons College in Southampton and trained at the Academy Drama school, where he was the recipient of the Stage Scholarship.

His father was in the RAF, which meant they moved around a bit. Tom grew up on air bases in Swindon, Doncaster, and Devon. He has two siblings – an older brother and a younger sister.
